French Pavilion showcases the Franche-Comté region at Gulfood 2016 Dubai – February 21-25, 2016

Located in eastern France, Franche-Comté is famous for its regional gastronomy. With 18 protected designations of origin (PDO) and 9 protected geographical indications (PGI), this region's agri-food sector is a dynamic network comprising SMEs, cooperatives and major international groups. With CCI International Franche-Comté, five companies from the dairy and gourmet food sectors will be participating in this year's Gulfood trade show taking place from February 21-25, 2016 in the France Pavilion (Stand S-L34 - Sheikh Saeed Hall).

 

This year CCI International Franche-Comté will be supporting five companies from its region at the Gulfood trade show, in the France Pavilion, organized by Business France:

 

VELLEMINFROY WATER:

In the unspoilt nature of Haute-Saône lies the source of the Velleminfroy mineral water from which it has drawn its benefits for over 150 years. Totally pure (0 nitrates and nitrites), the water is an excellent source of calcium (470 mg/l) and is rich in magnesium (82 mg/l) and sulphates (1,400 mg/l).

Composed of 2,300 minerals, it is one of France's most mineral-rich waters at 3.15 g/liter.

ELIXIA LEMONADE:

Artisanally manufactured since 1856, Elixia lemonade is free from artificial flavors and colors. Today it is consumed in over 25 countries. At Gulfood, the ultra-premium version, Elixia Or, will be showcased featuring flakes of 24-carat gold.

PATURAGES COMTOIS CHEESEMAKER:

Every year the Hauts du Val de Saône cheesemaking cooperative transforms 35 million liters of milk into soft cheese (bloomy rind, washed rind and mixed) and hard pressed cheese (Emmental Grand Cru, French Emmental, Gruyère). The cooperative, which has developed a high-quality approach, exports 75% of the soft cheeses it produces.

PERRIN VERMOT CHEESEMAKER:

In the Jura Mountains, the Perrin Vermot cheesemaker traditionally manufactures and refines AOC-certified cheeses (Comté and Morbier), organic and specialty cheeses (raclette, fresh cheese with herbs and fruit, etc.). 

At Gulfood, it will be presenting the Fromager des Clarines, a soft and creamy cheese from pasteurized milk, carefully protected in a spruce box, that can be enjoyed in warm or cold dishes.

Vilux follows the tradition of knowledge passed down through generations combined with the wealth of flavors targeting primarily the high-end market. The company features a variety of vinegars, mustards and oils in flavors such as walnut, hazelnut, olive, green peppercorn, lemon and more.
