Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh participated in the “Light It Up Blue” campaign in honor of World Autism Awareness Day. The entire team at the hotel woreawareness pins in support of this cause. The hotel also showed support by lighting the lobby in blue, the official color of autism awareness, and distributing awareness flyers and brochures throughout the hotel. 

 

The hotel also hosted a special lunch event on April 29thfor the autistic children of The Charitable Society of Autism Families. A number of kids from the association attended the event along with their families. For the event the hotel prepared fun activities and presents for its special young guests to ensure they enjoy this day. The event was also attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Samira bint Abdullah Al-Faisal Al-Farhan Al-Saud, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Charitable Association of Autism Families along with members of the Association. The aim of this activity is to celebrate the unique talents of these kids and make themfeel embraced within our society. 

 

Finally, and more importantly, this event aims to raise awareness on autism throughout the community as well as to encourage early diagnosis and intervention.

 

World Autism Awareness Day was declared by the United Nations in 2007 to pay tribute to individuals and families around the world touched by autism, a group of complex developmental brain disorders.  In December 2012, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously passed a new resolution encouraging governments to take urgent action to improve access to long-term healthcare, education, training and intervention programs for persons with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), developmental disorders (DD), and associated disabilities, at local, national and international levels.

Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh developed this awareness campaign for Autism in the context of their keenness to always contribute to all activities aimed at helping the community.  Aiming to always play a positive role in different social responsibilities, while supporting various health, environmental and educational activities.
