Fiber optic project to boost security: Crown Prince

Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier, minister of interior and chairman of the Supreme Haj Committee, expressed appreciation for the work done to complete a fiber optic cable network project for the Ministry of Interior.

Work on the project has been completed in Riyadh city, the Holy Sites and Makkah.

In Riyadh, the cables extended over 210 km linked 60 locations.
The Crown Prince said the advanced technology would contribute to the security and safety of citizens.

In the Holy Sites, over 100 km of high speed fiber optic cables have been installed, linking the Grand Mosque with the National Center for Unified Security Operations.

The Crown Prince was also briefed on the 203 high-precision surveillance cameras installed in Mina, Muzdalifah and Arafat.
