Fakieh Leisure and Entertainment Group sponsored the Jeddah International Book Fair 2016, which was held  under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Makkah Region,   between 16-26 Rabi`al-Awwal 1438 AH, corresponding to 15-25 December 2016, in the Obhur district north of Jeddah. 

 

Jamil Attar, Executive Director of Fakieh Leisure and Entertainment Group, expressed his pride in His Royal Highness the Governor of Makkah Region for sponsoring this major annual event, noting that it embodies the ambitious efforts of the wise leadership to restore the status of books in general in all their traditional and digital forms, as well as promoting reading as it is one of the most important means of learning and is the perfect tool for expanding understanding and self-development.

 

Mr. Attar stated that “Reading is life and the support of our Group for Jeddah Book Fair activities comes in the framework of our keenness to raise awareness of the importance of reading and contribute to expanding the knowledge horizon for all members of society. Reading allows us to learn more about ourselves, refine our capabilities, and learn about the world’s cultures, as well as literature, various arts and sciences, which will have a greater impact on increasing community adherence to values as well as religious and humanitarian constants, while always looking forward to learning, development and progress.”
