The Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, has announced that it achieved 8.9% savings in energy consumption of district cooling during its four-month summer campaign “Saving Starts at 24°C”, which was implemented with an aim to rationalize the consumption of district cooling services during peak summer times. This has been reflected on the reduction in costs and environmental impact.

 

Since the launch of the campaign in June 2016, Empower was very keen to maximize the benefits of the campaign, which actually resulted in savings by way of consumption cost and lifting the burden off customers who played a pivotal role in the campaign's success. This is the 3rd consecutive year Empower running the campaign.

 

 “We are proud of what we have accomplished together with our valued customers and achieving significant rates in terms of cooling energy consumption, and achieving mutual benefit for Empower and its customers," said HE Ahmad bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

 

 

“The summer campaign reflects Empower's vision to optimize the use of resources and energy, reduction of the environmental impact, and reduction of carbon emissions, which usually reach their peak during the hot summer months. We are happy to achieve this outcome, which encourages us to launch more initiatives and plans to reduce dependence on energy, save in costs, preserve the environment, adopt advanced technology to improve the energy sectors, regulate natural resources' consumption, and adopt sustainability methods," added bin Shafar.

Bin Shafar stressed that Empower customers represent the main pillar for all initiatives to improve the service provided to them. "We are moving with a clear approach to provide district cooling efficiently without neglecting the environmental issues and to apply the highest security and sustainability standards to continuously improve our services. We are also developing innovative systems to further improve district cooling technologies. We seek to achieve our customers' satisfaction and happiness. We will be launching more such initiatives to boost their happiness and achieve the greatest flexibility in dealing with environmental issues in order to support the vision of the leadership to achieve sustainability across all the sectors. "

 

Empower currently operates more than 1,100,000 refrigeration tonnes(RT), providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, among others.
