Emirati Students to Visit Airbus Manufacturing Facilities

Four Emirati high school students will be traveling to Toulouse, France from 16 – 21 December 2016 to visit Airbus headquarters and Airbus Training Centre as part of an induction visit organised by Airbus Middle East in partnership with the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the UAE Ministry of Education.

The visit aims to promote an appreciation for the aerospace sector and instill a passion for science, technology and engineering among the young Emirati nationals.

The Airbus Training Centre in Toulouse plays a key role in the design, manufacture and support of the world’s best aircraft.

Over the six days, the students will get an opportunity to visit various facilities at the Airbus Training Centre including the mock-up visits and final assembly lines for some of Airbus’ jetliner families.  This includes the best-selling A320 Family aircraft, the 21st century flagship A380 and the all-new A350 XWB jetliner. Also, they will get the opportunity to meet Airbus aerospace experts and engage in discussions and brainstorming sessions.

The visit further underscores the MOU signed in May 2014 between Airbus Middle East and the GCAA to develop engagement and training initiatives for youth at a grass-root level in the UAE and to encourage nationals to pursue a career in the aviation industry.

“Talent is a key contributor to the future of aviation and at Airbus we work closely with the global education community to support the development of young talent with an aptitude for the aerospace sector,” said Fouad Attar, Managing Director, Airbus Middle East. “Our association with the GCAA helps us further develop this initiative and together we aim to reach new heights and shape the future of the aviation sector in the UAE.”
