EMC Highlights Federation Value at STC IT Day

Recognizes Saudi Telecom Company’s Futuristic Drive and Vision, Congratulates Their Remarkable Transition into a Revolutionary Service Provider

 

EMC today announced its recent participation at the STC IT Day that was held on the 7th and 8th of September at the Executive Club of the STC Campus in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

At the event, EMC congratulated Saudi Telecom Company (STC) on their futuristic vision and successful transition to a full-fledged service provider enabling both private and public sector enterprises in the Kingdom transform in the face of growing digitization. With net income in excess of SR 5 billion, Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has pioneered the adoption of next generation technologies to help enterprises transform business, boost service delivery and competitive differentiation.

Aimed at showcasing award winning technologies and innovations that are designed to help organizations establish a firm foundation to manage and leverage burgeoning data and application growth, the STC IT Day brought together an audience of key STC employees and business leaders from across the kingdom.

The digital universe in the MENA will grow from 249 Exabytes in 2014 to 1835 Exabytes by 2020, an increase of over 600%, according to the IDC Digital Universe Study.

As the event came at a time when both public and private sector enterprises in Saudi Arabia continue to adopt a digital mindset to help engage and retain the increasingly connected customer, IT teams within these organizations are tasked with identifying and deploying solutions that improve workflows, optimize the use of resources and expedite service delivery. At the same time, these teams need to ensure even higher levels of data and application availability alongside comprehensive, intelligence driven security to mitigate the risks open to a hyper connected enterprise.

Against this context, at the event STC shared its vision and approach for the wider telecommunications industry as it continues to transform into a true service provider offering enterprises a combination of best in class technology and service expertise. Over the last few years, STC has pioneered the application of leading third platform technologies to enhance routes to market and drive business agility to reinforce the overall customer experience.

At the STC IT Day, EMC II came together with Pivotal, RSA, VCE and VMware to showcase the power of the EMC Federation solution offering that is aimed at helping organizations power the agility needed to support future needs. The EMC Federation is designed to extend enterprises truly integrated solutions to redefine organizations into agile, data driven enterprises.

At the EMC Federation stand, attendees had the opportunity to leverage deep dive sessions and demos of technologies such as converged infrastructure in addition to EMC ViPR Software Defined Storage and Data Protection solutions. The audience was also introduced to the EMC XtremIO, all-flash array that has just recently achieved $1 billion in aggregate bookings in just over 18 months.
