Education ‘key priority’

Education remains a key priority of the government led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, to ensure that students have skills that can contribute to economic growth, said Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman recently.

“Today we celebrate your graduation, and tomorrow begins the process of working and contributing to achieving the objectives and aspirations of your religion and homeland,” the prince said in a speech at the graduation ceremony of 11,000 Taibah University students.
He said the government has provided top quality education for citizens at home and abroad, at some of the world’s most prestigious universities. “You have to use your time to seek more knowledge in various areas, and adhere to our magnificent Islamic values, because you are the real investment for the future.”
In a speech, Rector of Taibah University Mahrous bin Ahmed Al-Ghabban told students that they must arm themselves with scientific knowledge, and work after graduation in the service of their homeland. He said there were 11,413 students graduating this year — 4,014 male students and 7,399 female students in medicine, science and the humanities. There would be law students graduating for the first time, he said.
At the conclusion of the graduation ceremony, Prince Faisal honored Naif Al-Montasheri, a scholarship student from the university, who has registered a patent in genetics.
He also honored a father and son who studied and graduated together, and those who achieved first-class passes.
