LS Productions and Batuta Events announce first ever pageant featuring Latina delegates from across the Middle East

Event producer LS Productions and entertainment company Batuta Events jointly announced the official launch of Miss Latina Middle East 2016, the region’s first pageant featuring Latina beauties from the Middle East and Levant.

 

Preparations for the pageant was kick started in September through a Pan Arab social media campaign inviting participation from 18-30 year old Latin Americans and Spaniards residing in 7 countries including UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon and Egypt. The recruitment campaign also gathered momentum through the support of Correo del Golfo, the region’s most widely read Spanish daily.  Following the open call for registration, the organizers created the first shortlist of over 35 contestants from all the entries received. A second and third round of elimination by photographers and missologists empanelled with Miss Latina Middle East saw the list narrow down to 16 and then finally to 11 contestants. The nominated finalists will compete for the coveted title in a gala event to be held at the Pyramids Rooftop Gardens in Wafi on 5th February 2016.

 

Miss Latina Middle East 2016 is the brainchild of two Dubai based Latin American entrepreneurs Lorena Serrano and Ana Maria Rey. Talking about the pageant, Lorena Serrano, Director, LS Productions said, “The Middle East is home to a sizeable Spanish and Portuguese speaking population. The UAE alone has over 40,000 residents from Spain and Latin America put together. Our idea behind Miss Latina Middle East is to create a world-class pageant that celebrates the incredible beauty, talent and passion of Latin American women in the region. We hope this will be well received and we look forward to making this an annual event”

 

 “Miss Latina Middle East is more than just a beauty pageant. We want to showcase to the Arab World the richness and diversity of our culture by making the gala final an elite gathering that celebrates music, dance, fashion, cuisine and more” added Ana Maria Rey, Director, Batuta Events.

 

The organizers are lining up an impressive jury that will include among others Yousif Naeemat, Organizer of world-renowned pageants. The star-studded gala final in February, which will be a ticketed event for the public, will also be attended by an invited list of dignitaries and some of the region’s most outstanding personalities. 

 

In the lead up to the finals, the 11 shortlisted candidates will undergo a series of certified intensive training modules starting 8th January 2016. During the training, candidates will be evaluated on protocol, etiquette, make-up, catwalk, posing, fitness, nutrition, public speaking and dance among others skills. Professional coaches and missologists have been brought in to groom the candidates to create a spectacular final.

In addition to the titles, the organizers of Miss Latina Middle East 2016 will award cash prizes and sponsored gifts to the winner, first and second runners-up along with special prizes for Miss Congeniality and Miss Popular.

 

The candidates include a mix of students and working professionals based in the Middle East. The 11 finalists are:  Adriana Ureña, 30 (Colombia); Andrea Laura, 24 (Argentina); Diana Patricia Mantilla, 27 (Colombia); Eliven A. Brown, 29 (Colombia); Faten Suleyman, 20 (Spain); Karelia Lujan, 25 (Peru); Katherine Sarria Tamayo, 26 (Colombia); Maria Alvarado, 25 (Guatemala); Antonieta Mendoza, 26 (Venezuela); Victoria de la Garza; 20 (Mexico); and Luana Silveira, 24 (Brasil).

 

During their engagement with Miss Latina Middle East 2016, the candidates will have a busy social calendar of outings and appearances along with photo shoots and endorsement opportunities.

 

With over 30 International pageant victories, Latin America takes the lead in producing the world’s most outstanding candidates. In keeping with this, Miss Latina Middle East 2016 gears up to be a showcase of international caliber and a highly anticipated event for the UAE’s cosmopolitan community.
