Dubai Showjumping Championship marks another successful year of thrilling equestrian fans

The UAE’s equestrian fans were in for a treat this past weekend at the precision filled CSI-W Dubai Show Jumping Championship. Held at the Emirates Equestrian Centre, the event once again had esteemed Swiss watchmaker Longines lend its touch of elegance to the event as official timekeeper.

Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President of Longines and Head of International Marketing, commented: “We are honored to be the Official Partner and Timekeeper of one of the most important show jumping events in the Middle East and a qualifier for the Longines FEI World Cup finale. Longines is proud to be able to rely on long-term partnerships with Meydan and with the International Equestrian Federation (FEI); therefore this association fits perfectly in our global involvement in equestrian sports.”

Flaunting an association of more than a decade with the event, Longines presented two segments of the Showjumping Championship; the Longines Speed Stakes on Friday and the Longines Accumulator on Saturday. The competition rewards participants with points based on the fences they have cleared and the level of difficulty achieved with the eventual winner being decided by the highest total points and fastest time.

As part of the vibrant occasion, Longines also offered attendees the opportunity to discover the Official Watch of the event; a lady model of the Longines Equestrian Collection, inspired by the rectangular buckle on the show bridle of the only Swiss horse breed, the Franches-Montagnes.
