Dubai Judicial Institute publishes the ninth edition of its magazine

Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) has announced the release of the ninth edition of its ‘Emirates Law, Business & Practice’ magazine, which focuses on VAT and its history, importance and implementation. The issue features a comprehensive interview about the subject with His Excellency Abdulrahman Saleh el Saleh, Director General of the Government of Dubai's Department of Finance.

This month’s issue aims to improve knowledge of VAT among those employed in the legal sector, and strengthen the UAE’s reputation as a stable, powerful and sustainable economy. The issue also sheds light on various other current topics including a feature on the Year of Zayed and op-eds regarding regional cryptocurrency regulations, new domestic worker laws, and technology disruptors.

His Excellency Justice Dr. Jamal Al Sumaiti, Director General of DJI and Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, commented: “The ninth volume of ‘Emirates Law, Business & Practice’ progresses upon the magazine’s mission to uphold the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to create a credible and transparent investment climate for both investors and legal experts. As part of the Dubai Plan 2021, which aims to reinforce the Emirate’s economy and make Dubai a pivotal hub for global commerce and investment, new tax laws have been introduced via the implementation of VAT. We believe it is crucial for members of the legal profession to keep abreast of these developments, and the latest edition of the magazine has been designed to provide them with a broad overview as well as a detailed look at the long-term impact of VAT.”

‘Emirates Law, Business and Practice’ is a quarterly magazine that has become a foundational resource and a leading legal and economic platform across both the private and public sectors, with a circulation that covers the Middle East, US, Europe and the Far East. Now in its ninth volume, each issue focuses on a theme of specific interest to the legal community and investors, and features several topics of interest that are covered by authors who are experts in their field, working under the umbrella of the magazine’s advisory board.

Al Sumaiti added: “The magazine addresses legal and legislative developments in the UAE and aims to be an international legal magazine that offers significant contributions to legal debates by providing its readers with a wide selection of relevant law disciplines. We are grateful to our editorial team, which has consistently enlightened and informed readers on local UAE law while also successfully reflecting them upon international legal practices. “

‘Emirates Law, Business & Practice’ has created an unprecedented legal forum within the UAE, enabling legal practitioners across the in-house, private and governmental sectors to learn from and be inspired by each other.
