Dubai Customs honors 21 top performing clients

Dubai Customs held its monthly client recognition ceremony to honor best performing clients and businesses in various categories.

A total of 21 companies received shields of appreciation in the presence of Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs and a host of business representatives, senior executives and heads of departments and customs centers.

This year so far, Dubai Customs has awarded 213 companies, 4 individuals whose complaints have led to developing work procedures, and one individual who submitted a valuable suggestion.

“The new year is just around the corner, and as you already know the new year has been announced as the year of preparation for the next 50 years. It will be an eventful year with EXPO 2020 as a top event that the whole world is anxiously waiting for” said Musabih. “Dubai Customs is also hosting the 5th WCO Global AEO Conference in March 2020. We have achieved a lot in 2019 and expecting the same or more in 2020 in line with Dubai Vision 2021 to enhance the sustainable economic development and facilitate legitimate trade”.

“In Fulfilment of the wise vision of our leadership, we work relentlessly to support Dubai external trade and tourism. Dubai is a global hub for business, and, during this, we spare no effort in enhancing our communication ties with our clients and cooperating with them to further develop our world class customs services” Musabih added.

Musabih applauded the many awards and accolades Dubai Customs obtained in 2019 including the EFQM platinum Award. With this exceptional achievement Dubai Customs has become the first organization in the world to win this reputable global award based on the new rating system in 2019. Dubai Customs has also launched the Productivity Engine, which helps boosting employee’s performance based on AI, and the second phase of the Inspection Virtual Reality project. Other achievements included the launch of the Smart Vessel Berthing System which helps vessels load and unload their goods with the help of an advanced AI based service. It was built in-house by Dubai Customs employees to facilitate traffic of vessels through the historic Creek waterway.

“Dubai Customs topped the list of government departments on the client happiness meter scoring 98%. This record wouldn’t have been hit without the fruitful partnership with you, which encourages us all the time to keep evolving and developing following the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai” Musabih said.
