The visit took place at the Al Twar branch of the Dubai Public Library as part of the Authority’s mandate to promote cultural exchange initiatives between countries.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation was briefed on the various services provided by the Dubai Public Library and its facilities. The two parties discussed means of cooperation and exchanged their experiences of visiting the public library in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Consul expressed his admiration for the Dubai Public Library’s services and praised its use of the latest technologies to provide knowledge and make it easily accessible to all segments of Dubai’s multicultural society. The Consul also gifted a book written by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Dubai Public Library.

Dr. Hissa bin Massoud, Head of Dubai Public Library at Dubai culture, commented: “We were pleased to welcome the delegation from the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Dubai. We express our deep thanks to His Excellency the Consul for the valuable book he gifted us from the Azerbaijani Republic, which has provided us with a contribution to the development of Dubai Public Library’s collection. The Dubai Public Library network includes eight libraries for adults and another seven for children. Some branches feature multi-purpose halls, classrooms and exhibition spaces and all branches of the Dubai Public Library are connected via computer systems. This has established close links with other modern libraries, providing access to vast sources of information on a diversity of topics in both Arabic and English
