Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince enroll in organ donation program

In an unsurprising humanitarian gesture from the wise leadership, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, have registered in the organ donation program of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation.

This move comes within the framework of the great care that patients with end-stage organ failure receive from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince. The leadership also aims to encourage all citizens and residents to register in the program due to its great importance in spreading hope among patients whose lives depend on the transplant of a new organ. This is also in compliance with the words of Allah The Almighty {and whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity} The Holy Quran, 5:32.

King Salman had worked to establish the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation - previously known as the National Center for Kidneys - in order to relieve the suffering of patients with kidney failure, whose numbers are increasing. The center also emphasizes the importance of expanding the circle of organ donation to include all patients with end-stage organ failure and spread hope among those on waiting lists and whose recovery process depends on the transplant of a new organ such as a heart, liver, kidney, and lung among others.

The initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince to register in the organ donation program constitutes a caring, paternal gesture towards such patients. It also serves as an incentive to fortify one of the most important forms of solidarity known to the Saudi society, as well as enhance public health levels and increase the medical sector’s efficiency and success rate in conducting such complex operations in the future.
