Crown Prince to open Haj research meet

Under the sponsorship of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, interior minister and chairman of the Supreme Haj Committee, will open the 16th annual Haj research meeting to discuss the best means of providing the guests of God with consummate services that will enable them perform their rites in ease, peace and comfort.

The two-day annual event will be organized by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Center for Haj and Umrah Researches of the Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah.

Senior Islamic scholars, researchers, experts, specialists, academicians and a number of top government officials will participate in the meeting.
University rector, Bakri Bin Maatouq Assas said the sponsorship of the King and the presence of the Crown Prince are enough evidence of the Kingdom’s utmost care and concern accorded to the Haj and Umrah pilgrims and to the visitors of the Prophet Mosque in Madinah.

Dean of the center, Atif Asghar, said the meeting would discuss about 60 working papers that will tackle a number of important themes relating to the Haj and Umrah issues.

He said, among others, the themes will consist of architecture and engineering of the Haj facilities, environment and health, technology and its applications, management and economy, Haj and Umrah Fiqh (jurisprudence), enlightenment during the Haj, the role of the media in projecting the development of the Holy Sites and the upgrading of services for the welfare of the pilgrims.
