Consumers can pay outstanding electricity bills in installment of six months

Electricity consumers can pay in installments spread over a period of six months the outstanding amount for the whole year after the payment of their monthly average electricity bill in the Tayseer program of the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).

Announcing this on Saturday, SEC said this decision is to help consumers settle their outstanding bills in the Tayseer program.

The monthly average electricity consumption was calculated by SEC for one year ending last July.

Last month SEC launched the Tayseer (Facilitation) program to help residential sector subscribers whose monthly bills range between SR300 and SR3,000 by having them pay the average monthly consumption of electricity.

There are 3 million subscribers whose bill value ranges between SR300 and SR3,000. They were registered automatically in the Tayseer program.

Subscribers have the option to continue in the Tayseer program and pay the average monthly consumption or leave the program any time.

Consumers whose bill value is either less than SR300 or more than SR3,000 can subscriber directly in the fixed bill service.

In July the Electricity and Cogeneration Regulatory Authority said it was updating its database and improving its system for more efficient services.
