Citizen offers free use of taxis to Hajis

A concerned Saudi citizen has joined collective efforts of both the government and private sectors in rendering service to pilgrims in the holy sites.

“The citizen is one among those who have shown to the pilgrims magnanimity and benevolence which are in accordance with the spirit of the occasion,” online publication Sabq reported.
The citizen, who did not give his name, has allowed the use of 20 taxi units free of charge to pilgrims going to wherever they want while performing Haj.
To make the service known, an announcement regarding the free service has written at the back of the taxi units driven by expats of various nationalities.
He also said that the free taxi service would continue until the pilgrims leave for their respective countries when this year’s Haj pilgrimage is over.
“To be of help to fellow Muslims, particularly on this occasion, gives me indescribable happiness. I also give help on different occasions which makes me happy. But the I happiness I get this time is something different,” he said.
He added that “I feel I am reciprocating God for the blessings that I and my family are enjoying at present.”
He said that he was not asking anything material in return for his generosity except the blessings of God so that he and his family would always be healthy.
The citizen also said that he was hoping that others similarly situated do their own share of showing generosity to hajis during this year’s pilgrimage.
“Many have travelled on a stringent budget and make do with whatever little amount they have until they could do their lifetime dream of performing Haj. Let’s help them in one way or another,” he said.
Aside from him, others have also been helping as volunteers to help pilgrims, especially the old and the weak.
