Emirati superstar, Hussein Al Jassmi’s bold patriotic voice will carry across Sharjah’s Flag Island on National Day when he reveals in a special showcase, ‘The Story of the Nation’ operetta written by renowned Emirati poets Rashid Sharar and Nasser Al Shanfari. With the participation of artists Fayez Al Saeed and Jassim Mohammed, the recital will be showcased today (Friday) at 8:00 pm.

 

The operetta will feature seven musical performances highlighting the citizens’ love for their nation, emphasising the country’s position as a place where its people have enjoyed longstanding security, unity and tranquillity. It also exemplifies the vision and purpose of the founding fathers and tells the story of the rise of the UAE and the pride of its people under the wise leadership of the nation – its past glories, its present triumphs and the spectacular future for coming generations.

 

The musical will also be performed by Dr Habib Ghaloum, artist Ali Jamal and a host of young artists. It will be prepared by Assistant Director Habib Al Oufi and directed by Dr. Mohammed Yousif. With the television version directed by Nasser Mohammed Al Mal and Majid Shoman, the musical performance is written and supervised by Wahida Abdul Aziz. Students from Sharjah Educational Zone's schools will also participate in some parts of the show.

 

The operetta has been specially crafted to inculcate values of loyalty and pride among the present generations for their great nation, and will be a golden opportunity to spend a cultural evening with friends and family.
