‘Brainstorm Room’ launched during 2nd Dubai Customs Week

The Dubai Customs’ Al Maktoum Air Customs Centers Management has launched a groundbreaking Brainstorm Room named ‘Our Ideas Are Unique in Year of Giving’.

The initiative, which comes in parallel with the ongoing 2nd Dubai Customs Week events held on January 22-26 with the slogan ‘We Ensure Security.. Together We Grow’, supports the UAE leadership’s directions, particularly in relation to marking 2017 as Year of Giving in the country, as instructed by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The new brainstorm room is aimed at engaging DC staff and strategic partners as well as visitors in a shared, energetic drive to deliver fresh and impactful ideas in an interactive and creative manner, which would help meet the UAE’s ambitious goals.

Developed based on a suggestion by Inspector Maryam Al Naqbi, the simple yet innovative idea behind the brainstorm room consists in collecting and selecting famous quotes of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and putting them in empty bottles whose places inside the room are changed randomly every now and then. Any visitor or staff who enters the room would pick a bottle, open it, take the paper it contained and read the quote written on it. They would then suggest an idea inspired by the adage and discuss it with those present in the room. Once the session is over the brainstormed suggestion or idea would be written down by the suggestor on a piece of paper and hanged on a tree-shaped structure inside the room. The collected ideas and suggestions would be assessed and reviewed to choose the feasible ones. The owners of the latter will be contacted and advised to submit their ideas through Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Majlis.

Director of Dubai Customs Ahmed Mahboob Musabih inspected the newborn brainstorm room, escorted by Abdullah Al Khaja, Executive Director, Customer Management Division, Ibrahim Al Kamali, Director, Passenger Operations, Walid Eissa, Director, Al Maktoum Air Customs Centers Management, alongside other senior Customs officers. He was very happy with the idea and the first community initiatives implemented as part of it, including the formation of a 6-member volunteers team at Al Maktoum Cargo Terminal and the distribution of breakfast meals to truck drivers in line with UAE Food Bank objectives.
