Book your next Singapore trip stay at the all-new Hotel Indigo®

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, recently expanded the South East Asian footprint of its boutique hotel brand, Hotel Indigo, with the opening of Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong. This is a great offering for Middle East travellers from whom Singapore is a popular summer destination. A study by YouGov indicated that Singapore is continuing to attract an increasing number of tourists from the Middle East.

Hotel Indigo is the world’s first globally branded boutique hotel brand and no two hotels under the brand around the world are alike. Each hotel is designed to reflect the local culture, character and history of its neighbourhood through its design, food & beverage, amenities and services.

Due to its close proximity and attractions such as Gardens by the Bay, River Safari and Sands Sky Park and Event Plaza along Marina Bay, Singapore continues to appeal to both leisure and business travelers from across the Middle East region. According to the Singapore tourism Board’s Middle East and Africa office, 2014 recorded 75,700 visitors from the UAE, a 4 per cent year-on-year increase. Visitor arrivals from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recorded a 23 per cent year-on-year growth at 25,750 in 2014. 

 Leanne Harwood, VP Operations, IHG, South East Asia and Korea commented on the hotel opening saying “There is a rising wave of Middle East travelers seeking differentiated travel and an increasing demand for hotels that offer authentic and refreshingly local experiences, especially amongst seasoned and savvy travelers. Singapore has seen a steady increase in boutique hotels that aim to meet this demand for experiential travel and the global boutique hotel industry as a whole now comprises about five percent of the market. We’ve seen success on the back of the launch of the brand in Thailand last year and are confident Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong will be a popular choice amongst travellers to Singapore.”

The Hotel Indigo brand was launched in 2004, making it one of IHG’s youngest brands. Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong is the second Hotel Indigo hotel to open in South East Asia, following the launch of Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road in Bangkok, Thailand, last year. Over the next few years nine more hotels will open under the brand in South East Asia, including Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak, the world’s first Hotel Indigo in a resort location.

 To celebrate the opening, Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong is extending a special opening rate from SGD 171++ per night for bookings from until 30 September 2016.
