Audi Q7 voted ‘Car of the Year’ at Arab Wheels Awards

The all-new Audi Q7 has been voted ‘Car of the Year’ at the first ArabWheels Awards. The Q7 scored with its benchmarking technical innovations, driver assist systems, comfort and performance. But that was not the only award Audi Middle East received. The Audi TT coupe also won in its category as the best ‘Premium Sports Coupe’ for the brand with the four rings.

Commenting on Audi's two accolades, Issam Eid, Editor-in-Chief of ArabWheels said: “I had the honor of a great panel of judges as well as a very impressive short list of vehicles from some of the region’s leading auto manufacturers. All demonstrated advanced vehicles at the forefront of each category, but the all-new  Audi Q7 was a cut above the rest when it came to all round performance. It also  achieved the highest number of votes from the public and earned the 'Car of the Year 2015 Award'. The Audi TT was also worthy winner of the 'Premium Sports Coupe' Award.”

All of the nominated cars were evaluated by the judges, but the final choice of  winners was an equally shared decision by both jury members and the public through the readers' choice online voting poll on the ArabWheels website.

Audi Brand Director Enrico Atanasio said: “We are honored to receive the coveted Car of the Year award  for our flagship SUV. It is a car that has been collecting accolades worldwide since its launch earlier this year and we are thrilled to see such recognition for our biggest selling model now here in the Middle East.  We are equally glad that the Audi TT continues to be a favorite for both the media and the public. This is the 4th accolade for our sporty coupe this year in the region.”

Audi models were shortlisted in six out of 23 categories for the inaugural Arab Wheels awards. Jury members Ralph Debbas, Chairman / CEO of W Motors S.A.L, Nabil Moustafa, Managing Partner/Xclusive SARL for Automotive Events, Issam Eid, Editor in Chief of ArabWheels, Khaled Hammoud, Editor in Chief of Auto Info and guest of honor Nazih Massoud, Automotive Entrepreneurship, rated the cars by scorecards with a points system.
