Al-Haqbani tells students to choose specializations that meet job market needs

Minister of Labor Dr. Mufrej Al-Haqbani urged male and female students, who were attending the 4th specializations forum in Riyadh, to choose the suitable specialization that gives them the opportunity to obtain a job after graduation.

“A suitable specialization is a requirement to meet the needs of the labor market,” the minister said.

In a speech he made at one of the workshops in the forum, whose deliberations started on Thursday, Al-Haqbani said: “The forum aims to assist the male and female students in selecting their specializations and the vocational field suitable for them. This will contribute to the development of the national human resources, raise productivity and broaden their choices.”

Al-Haqbani expressed thanks to the students who attended the deliberations of the forum. He confirmed that the attendance of a large number of students despite the function falling on a weekend reflects the high level of awareness of the youth and their keenness to determine their future.

In his speech, Director General of the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) Dr. Abdulkareem Bin Hamad Al-Nijeidi said they were all pleased by the approval by the Council of Ministers of the Saudi Vision 2030 presented by the Council for Economic Affairs and Development.

He stressed that it focuses on the strategies and goals for building the citizens’ skills, diversifying the economy and raising the nation’s investment capabilities.

Al-Nijeidi said to achieve this vision at the level of the nation, officials and individuals, “we need to help our sons and daughters to choose the specialization and profession that enables them to become employees or owners of creative projects. This will make them productive and effective in achieving this vision.”

He said a young Saudi working in a job that he or she likes will bolster their affiliation to the field and achieve self-realization. This cannot be achieved if the job does not suit the jobseeker’s inclinations and capabilities. He or she will not be happy in this job nor will they be creative or productive.

He said the forum is the first correct step for selecting the future specialization and job and helps the young men and women to become effective elements in achieving the Saudi Vision 2030 by identifying their inclinations and personal capabilities. He added that aptitude tests will be conducted for prospective students.
