AbbVie, a global research and development-based biopharmaceutical company, announced today that it has been named the top pharmaceutical company to work for in Saudi Arabia by Great Place to Work® for the fourth year in a row. Moreover, AbbVie went up one place and ranked second place in 2017 among all companies participating in the award from all industries.

Rami Fayed, general manager of AbbVie in Saudi Arabia said, “It is a significant achievement for AbbVie to win this award for the fourth year in a row. Our high-performing and innovative workplace culture attracts and develops dedicated individuals full of the courage and passion needed to turn possibilities into reality. Every member of our team is proud to come to work every day and make a remarkable impact on patients’ lives; this is what makes our workplace special.”

As a global leader in the biopharmaceuticals industry, AbbVie is focused on innovating and developing treatments to some of the world’s most serious diseases, underlining the vital role the company plays in raising the standards of health care in the Kingdom.

“AbbVie truly believes in making a remarkable impact on people’s lives, including our employees and their families”, says Abdullah Hood, organizational excellence director at AbbVie, Saudi Arabia. “Our inspiring culture has come about through the leadership of every employee. Our Vitality program puts in place a number of engaging programs to provide a work environment that supports healthy living. It’s another example of what makes us unique.”

Osama Al-Ghamdi, product specialist, said: “I feel proud working for AbbVie as we contribute to the community in many ways. In the office, we are inspired to think of the patient in everything we do, and we come up with innovative ideas which will benefit patients across the Kingdom.” Omar Al-Tamimi, supply chain and quality assurance director, appreciative of a progressive management team and work-life balance, said: “I appreciate how we are empowered to take ownership of our culture here at AbbVie. I also enjoy how AbbVie’s caring culture actively promotes employee wellbeing through organizing family events such as ‘Bring Your Children to Work’ day. We’re one big family!”

AbbVie takes Corporate Responsibility (CR) as an integral part of the company’s culture.  Regular activities are rolled out to help those who are less fortunate. The team in Saudi Arabia contributed over 1,300 hours of volunteering hours over the past four years.

In October 2017, AbbVie was recognized globally as a ‘World-Class Workplace’ by Great Place to Work® and was listed as the sixth best workplace worldwide. AbbVie in Saudi Arabia was proud to be one of the countries that enabled AbbVie to receive this recognition. This came about due to high rankings by employees on leadership, organizational culture and trust. This is a tribute to AbbVie’s achievements in creating a work environment that fosters innovation, personal development, inclusion and collaboration. Worldwide, AbbVie provides best-in-class work-life effectiveness support and resources, along with a robust portfolio of compensation, benefits, recognition and well-being programs.
