3.3m Saudis enjoy coop health cover

A total of 10,229,109 people are covered under the cooperate health insurance system, including 3,338,628 Saudis and the rest non-Saudis, Health Minister Khalid Al-Falih has said.
In a press statement, the minister said the insurance system aims to provide health care and organize services for all employees of the private sector and their families. Those insured can access health care services via 2,508 service providers, 28 health insurance companies, and eight claims management companies.
Al-Falih said the system helps ease the burden on government facilities, while providing additional sources of health care services, contributing to the development of the health sector, pushing for the expansion of new hospital and health centers throughout the Kingdom and creating job opportunities.
This came following a three-hour meeting, in which Al-Falih met with officials to discuss the strategy, analyze the situation and look at the initiatives that support the implementation of the strategy.
