17,000 public sector employees studying abroad on scholarship

The number of Saudi employees in the public sector who have been approved for foreign scholarships reached 16,903 employees over the past five years.
According to government statistics, during the period from 1431-1435 AH, the United States, Britain, Australia, Germany and Canada received about 70 percent of these scholarship students.
Medical, administrative and educational specialties were the most popular scholarship programs during the same period, making up nearly 45 percent of all postgraduate specialties.
The Ministry of Education is continuing to implement the directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to include students currently studying at their own expense in the United States in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program. The directive gives the opportunity for all students who have met required conditions to join the program without putting a restriction on the numbers of students.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Civil Service called on 1,946 citizens who applied for administrative jobs covered by public employees’ salary scale to visit any of the branches of the ministry or its offices in various regions and governorates of the Kingdom to complete their employment procedures.
According to the ministry, those who have not completed their employment procedures during the nomination period, which ends on Thursday 12/25/1436 AH, will be considered as having turned down the position.
The second quarter report of the Department of Job Inquiries at the Ministry of Civil Service reveals it received about 2,338 employment applications.
