The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) is holding a press conference tomorrow (Tuesday) at their headquarters to unveil what promises to be very exciting details of the 38th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF).

 

The annual cultural event will run its course at the Sharjah Expo Centre, October 30 – November 9, and will carry the Sharjah World Book Capital 2019 theme, ‘Open Books Open Minds’

 

HE Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of SBA, will be sharing a detailed itinerary of SIBF 2019’s cultural programme as well as announce names of cultural, intellectual and media personalities from around the world who will be attending this year.

 

The press conference will be open for  local media representatives, publishing houses, authors and general public who are keen on gaining an insight into the forthcoming edition’s programmes at 10:00 AM.

 

Established in 2014, SBA is dedicated to encouraging investments in creative industries and offer a platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas between people from different countries and cultures. SBA is tasked with highlighting the significant role of writers and their influence in promoting community awareness in view of the technological advancement and diversity of sources of knowledge nowadays. SBA also aims to attract relevant bodies and figures operating in the cultural sector in general and the publishing, printing, translation, documentation and children’s books in particular.
