Crown Prince: Beef up efforts to fight sexual exploitation of children

Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, underscored the need for beefing up the efforts to combat sexual exploitation of children.

He made the remarks while inaugurating the National Forum for Prevention of Sexual Exploitation of Children via Internet, organized by the Public Security in collaboration with a number of government institutions.

The Crown Prince stressed that there should be awareness campaigns supporting international agreements and treaties that criminalize acts of human trafficking and exploitation of children’s innocence so as to ensure protection of younger generations.

“Riyadh’s hosting of this event clearly reflects the Kingdom’s keenness to uphold human rights in general and the rights of children, in particular, based on the teachings of our Islamic religion which prohibits assault and abuse of human beings,” the Crown Prince said.

Director General of Public Security Lt. Gen. Othman Al-Moharej, Dr. Hatim Ali, the UN ambassador and director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime to the GCC states, also spoke on the occasion.
