Unique Celebrations of India Begins Tomorrow (Wednesday) at Al Qasba

The largest Indian-inspired festival in Sharjah begins tomorrow (Wednesday) with traditional shows, food, textiles, jewellery, music and much more on offer. Indian Fest, taking place at Al Qasba, Sharjah’s premier leisure, tourist and family destination, celebrates all things Indian and will both entertain and inform visitors of the nation’s diverse culture and profound history.

 

From folklore dancers to professional puppeteers, families will be treated to competitions and workshops in a rich and colourful setting along Al Qasa’s walkways and open areas. India’s arts and heritage will not only be on display, visitors will also be able to play an interactive part in learning some of its signature traditions. Rangoli decoration workshops, classical music evenings, live cooking demonstrations will all be part of the three-day festival’s agenda, plus an interactive lecture on how to lead a healthy lifestyle through Yoga by Sumit Manav on 18 November, at 7:15 p.m.

 

Sultan Shattaf, Al Qasba Manager, said the event is an important part of its cultural calendar. “We take great pride in hosting a full spectrum of informative, cultural and entertainment activities throughout the year and Indian Fest is a prime example of celebrating cultures worldwide. Al Qasba provides an ideal setting for the festival, reflecting the importance of the Indian community in the UAE and the significant contribution its people and heritage bring.”

 

Indian Fest will showcase authentic Indian handcrafts, kiosks selling Indian delicacies, spices, garments, fabrics and accessories which will cater to Indian culture enthusiasts of all ages.

 

Al Qasba has an array of state-of-the-art facilities and leisure and tourist attractions, including restaurants, cafés, kids’ fun zone, the Al Qasba Musical Fountain, the Eye of the Emirates Wheel, the Maraya Art Centre and much more.
