HE Najlaa Al Awar, Minister of Community Development attended a meeting with the UAE IAA delegation to discuss as to how to strengthen the role of the internal audit in the business community. The prominent members of the meeting included Suhaila Mohammed Sohail, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Community Development, Director and Deputy Director of Non Profit Organizations Department at the ministry along with the members of the Board of Governors of the UAE IAA, which included Mr. Abdul Qader Obaid Ali, the President, Mr. Khalid Al Halyan, Vice President, Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi, a board member, Ms. Naseeba Al Rais, a board member & Ms. Samia Al Yousuf, the Director General.

Mr. Abdul Qader Obaid Ali, The President, highlighted, in the meeting, the services provided by the association to the business community and the members, as they are being offered:  consultancy services, members meetings, subgroups meetings and conferences to help promote the principles of corporate governance, risk management and control, which are based on professional integrity and transparency at work. The recent statistics show that most government and private institutions have experienced good results with the utilization of internal audit. In order to achieve greater profits and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance of employees along with implementation of standard policies, it has become essential for all institutes to apply internal auditing systems. The Ministerial Decree No. (1) Issued in 2013 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum urges all the ministries to establish units for internal audits.

Mr. Khalid Al Halyan, The Vice President of the Association, remarked: “I am delighted to participate in this meeting, which is one of the most effective meetings at the level of enhancing communication with Her Excellency Najlaa Al Awar, Minister of Community Development and the consolidation of the knowledge gained by Her Excellency. I would like to commend the efforts of all the members of the Association, including internal auditors, in the development of professional standards in the internal audit of various institutions and raise the level of knowledge and vision of the UAE in achieving innovation ad excellence in all sectors.”

 

 

 

With the great efforts of the association, the president, Mr. Abdul Qader Obaid Ali announced that the UAE was able to acquire the approval for holding the Internal Audit International Conference 2018 in Dubai, which will be for the first time in the whole MENA region. HE was very pleased about the news and has requested the delegate to establish a data-base that will include all the internal auditors in the emirates in order to provide the services to all of them to achieve the desired benefits leading to the improvement of the entire business community in the UAE and the region.
