140 volunteers clean up Al-Halila Beach in Ras Al Khaimah

The Environmental Protection and Development Authority organized a campaign to clean the beach in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Community Prevention, the Department of Public Services and the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zones Authority, and collected approximately 1,340 kilograms with the participation of volunteers from various sectors of the community, who numbered approximately 140 mt. Voluntarily. 

H.E Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi Director General of Public Services Department “We are proud to collaborate with our partners to organize this important and successful event through which we seek to spread a culture of interest in marine life."  We in the Public Services Department believe in our role of protecting the rich heritage of ras al Khaimah, which is based on the preservation of our natural environment. Education is also an integral part of our goal to achieve this goal, and by launching or participating in awareness hygiene campaigns, we do our best to establish the idea of social responsibility between citizens and residents, with a particular focus on the young people in the community."

 

Dr. Saif al-Gheis, Director General of the Authority, stressed that the organization of such initiatives and campaigns comes within the framework of the Authority's commitment to applying the principles of community responsibility and involving different segments of society by enshrining and cultivating positive values, and encouraging practices aimed at protecting the environment and life. Innate, by maintaining cleanliness and waste disposal on the basis and standards to ensure environmental sustainability. He stressed that the UAE is actively contributing to the achievement of the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
