Given the Abu Dhabi Government’s focus on Sustainable Development as a key pillar of the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030, the emirate has created ambitious goals and standards requiring higher degrees of energy efficiency and sustainability from outdoor and indoor lighting.
The new projects expected to be completed in the Abu Dhabi Emirate by 2020 have a combined value of over USD $37 billion. Meanwhile, planned changes in the type of street lights in Abu Dhabi city is projected to cut costs by 40 per cent over the next 20 years. Accordingly, there is a clear need to integrate sustainable lighting into Abu Dhabi’s new and retrofit projects, providing sustainable and cost-effective delivery and maintenance of city assets.
After the great success of the first edition, the 2nd Lighting Tech Abu Dhabi, as part of the Abu Dhabi Community Public Services Congress taking place on 25-26 March 2019, will bring together the key government entities developing projects in the Emirate, such as Abu Dhabi Municipality and Musanada, with the leading engineering consultants and lighting to discuss the strategies and innovative ways of adopting sustainable lighting in the emirate.
