The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi continues to support the 11th annual, Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship as platinum sponsor, held at the award-winning 27 hole championship course at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

From 20 - 24 January 2016, golfing elites Rory Mcllroy, Rickie Fowler and three-time Falcon Trophy champion Martin Kaymer will headline the record-setting championship event along with the Arabian debut of Jordan Spieth on most idyllic island getaway, as The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort conveys its passion for the sport of golf.

“We are delighted to be the platinum sponsor of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and continue to support the Capital’s popular event for the 4thconsecutive year. Our passion for golf is clear, and The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, set along the unmatched backdrop of the Arabian Sea continues to be an alluring destination for all golf enthusiasts,” said Stewart Selbie, General Manager of the hotel.

This championship has been one of the biggest events on the European Tour, regularly attracting some of golf’s most famous names. Since its inception in 2006 by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (ADTCA), it has taken place at the sublime Abu Dhabi Golf Club as part of the Tour’s ‘Gulf Swing’.

“Abu Dhabi is well positioned as an elite international address for golf and, in line with us, so too are our world-class and bespoke golfing experiences. We continue to welcome players, fans and guests from around the globe, and we are delighted to be able to again display our passion for the sport,” Selbie concluded.

In addition to the Platinum sponsorship, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort will yet again be sponsoring the hole in one competition, with the winner entitled to a five night stay in the resort’s signature royal suite worth AED 756,545.

The stunning golfing destination scooped four of the top golf awards, winning World’s Best Golf Hotel, Middle East’s Best Golf Hotel, UAE’s Best Golf Hotel and Abu Dhabi’s Best Golf Hotel for 2015 just last December at the prestigious World Golf Awards held in the Algarve, Portugal.
