US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia John Abizaid visited Masmak Museum in Riyadh on Thursday, where he was received by the museum’s director Nasser Al-Arifi.

The ambassador was briefed on the importance of Masmak Fort and its prominent position in the history of Saudi Arabia, and Riyadh in particular.

Abizaid expressed in the visitors’ book his admiration for the development of Riyadh city.

Masmak Fort is a tourist favorite and a must-visit destination in the Saudi capital. Many of the Kingdom’s most important historical artifacts are found here. The museum contains photographs, maps, models, display cabinets, old weapons, heritage objects, and exhibition and audiovisual halls.
