According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) report “Travel & Tourism Economic Impact 2015 – Morocco”, the direct contribution of Travel & Tourism to GDP in Morocco 2014 was MAD 72.3 billion (USD 7.37 billion), 8.1% of GDP. This is expected to rise by 3.7% to MAD 74.9 billion (USD 7.64 billion) in 2015. 

 

Stephan Killinger, President of Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort said that relatively new markets achieved significant growth in recent period and the number of GCC tourists to Mazagan was remarkably higher this summer due to the unique tourism products developed by the resort for families and individuals alike.

 

The United Nations’ World Tourism Organization report said that the Government of Morocco has taken several measures to promote tourism, such as allocating MAD 100 million (USD 10.19 million) to implement a short-term plan for the advancement of Morocco market as a major destination for tourism.
