The Kingdom is reviewing its economic reforms in the United Nations as part of its participation in the Political Forum on Sustainable Development

In cooperation with the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom to the United Nations, the Trade and Investment System organized a panel discussion entitled "Reforms in Saudi Commercial Law and Sustainable Development Objectives for Empowering Small and Medium Enterprises and New Enterprises" at the United Nations Building in New York City on the sidelines of the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, organized by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
The seminar was chaired by His Excellency the Assistant Minister of Trade and Investment, Chief Executive Officer of the National Competitiveness Center, Dr. Iman Bint Habas Al Mutairi, reviewed the Kingdom's efforts to achieve the goals of sustainable development and the reforms implemented to improve the business environment in the Kingdom. 2030.
The seminar also covered a number of topics including the role of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in promoting trade and investment, raising the competitiveness of the Kingdom, commercial arbitration, the new bankruptcy law, the role of small and medium enterprises in economic growth and job creation and the importance of women's economic empowerment in enhancing competitiveness.
His Excellency the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Muallami stressed that the Forum is an important opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices among countries to achieve sustainable development in its economic, social and environmental dimensions. The Kingdom has made great progress in achieving these goals through its ambitious vision 2030 Which reflects the firm determination of the Kingdom to move forward with the implementation of reforms at all levels, especially social and economic.
The Assistant Minister of Trade and Investment, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Center for Competitiveness, explained that the forum is an opportunity to review the procedural and legislative reforms implemented for the competitive environment in the Kingdom and highlight initiatives that have been taken to empower women to participate in the development process.
The Kingdom is working hard to develop its business systems, which will be reflected in the achievement of the goals of sustainable development, including the creation of jobs and the effective role of small and medium enterprises in economic growth.
The forum aims to discuss and discuss the efforts of States to implement the goals of sustainable development for the year 2030. It also provides an opportunity for countries to assess the progress made in implementing the goals at the national level.
The Kingdom's participation is in support of efforts to support its candidature for membership of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) for the period 2022-2028.
UNCITRAL is a United Nations legal body in the field of international trade law whose mission is to modernize and harmonize rules on international business.
