Technical skills winners to represent KSA in Sao Paulo

Winners of the National Technical Skills Competition organized by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) will represent Saudi Arabia in a global skills competition in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo this year.

They were awarded certificates by Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar on Thursday at a function attended by Labor Minister Adel Fakeih and TVTC Gov. Ali Al-Ghafees.
In his speech, Prince Faisal said: “You will all be role models in this country and will reflect the efforts of this state in a clear mark painted on the ground in the field of training.”
“There is no doubt that bringing you to the global arena in various fields will make us all proud of this young nation, which builds itself up on the inside, protects its border and stops anyone who tries to harm it,” he noted.
Prince Faisal said that the people are proud of this country, which is a stronghold of science. “We are proud of your work and of those men who founded this institution, led by the minister of labor and the TVTC governor.”

According to TVTC, the competition was intended to prepare Saudi children to represent the Kingdom in a global competition on practical skills in Brazil this year.
On this occasion, Al-Ghafees said that TVTC, through this competition and many other activities and programs, seeks to develop citizens’ skills and motivate them to excellence, innovation and to develop their talents in accordance with international standards.

He said that the winners will serve as representatives of the Kingdom in regional and international competitions, adding that this is an opportunity for young Saudis from highly-skilled backgrounds to prove their skills and foster a spirit of competitiveness.
Al-Ghafees said that this will motivate them to improve their technical abilities and contribute to the preparation of a generation capable of serving the country in the areas of industrial and technological development.
