SFC Draws Lots of World’s Biggest Falconry Competition

The Saudi Falcons Club (SFC) on Tuesday drew lots of Al Melwah "Da'ao" 400 meters competition, which will be organized within second edition of King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival from 1-16 December in Malham, north of Riyadh.
The competition, the largest of its kind in the world, has set a new Guinness world record in its first edition with a record attendance of elite falconers and 1723 participating falcons.
The drawing of lots ceremony was marked by large media presence at Marriott Courtyard Riyadh Hotel, Diplomatic Quarter. The drawing, which was electronically conducted, randomly sets falcons order across rounds for Saudi and international participants’ both categories (owners and professionals), while results will be announced through SFC website and social media channels.
Melwah and Mazayen competitions will consist of 92 rounds, of which 87 will be for Melwah. Number of qualified rounds for Saudi owners and professionals will be 23 and 12 respectively. On the other hand, a total of 24 qualified rounds will be organized for both international owners and professionals (12 for each category) to bring Melwah total qualified rounds to 59. Seven participants from each round will qualify for the cups tournament, while the top ten winners of each round will be honored daily.
Moreover, cups tournament, which takes place under the name of King Abdulaziz Cup, will include 24 rounds for Saudi owners and professionals (12 for each category).
