SEDCO Holding Group won two top awards at the 2019 Gulf Sustainability and CSR Awards ceremony held recently in Dubai, with SEDCO Holding taking home the awards for the ‘Best Learning and Education Program’ for Riyali financial literacy program, and ‘CSR Team of the Year’. 

“We are truly privileged to be recognized for the hard work and efforts put forth to make SEDCO’s CSR programs a great success,” said Abdulrahman AlTurjuman, Acting Head, Marketing & CSR at SEDCO Holding. “We are all the more honored because the Gulf Sustainability and CSR Awards are recognized as the ultimate accolade of excellence in the world of Sustainability and CSR across the region.”

The CSR team at SEDCO continuously strives to develop great programs that are driven by creating a lasting impact in the community, as observed with SEDCO’s two main CSR programs, Badir and Riyali. Badir, which means ‘initiate’ in Arabic, is the company’s flagship volunteering program. Employees at SEDCO are expected to volunteer not less than 20 hours per year towards giving back to the community through sustainable volunteering programs sourced by SEDCO’s CSR team. 

Riyali, launched in 2012 is SEDCO’s flagship financial literacy program, focused on educating the Saudi youth, and society at large, on better personal financial planning. To date, the program has reached more than 550,000 beneficiaries across the Kingdom, with the aim to reach two million by 2020. 

Through the widespread success of Riyali, the program managed to formulate key partnerships with prominent entities such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Laborand Social Development, SABB Bank, and Majid Society. It is with the support of these partners that SEDCO through Riyali is able to continue growing the program to help society improve their financial dignity. 

It is worth mentioning that Nahdi Medical Company, one of SEDCO Holding Group companies, won an award for the best cause-related marketing campaign.
