Saudi housing minister hands over new Riyadh units to tenants in Sakani program

Housing Minister Majid Al-Hogail on Saturday handed over housing units to beneficiaries of the Sakani program, as part of the first phase of the Diyar Al-Saad housing project in the residential suburb of Al-Jawan in northern Riyadh.

Diyar Al-Saad is a Housing Ministry project implemented in partnership with the private sector, and can accommodate more than 100,000 people. It is providing nearly 600 housing units, including villas and townhouses.

Al-Hogail toured the project and inspected completion rates. He stressed the need to speedily complete the remaining stages so as to meet deadlines in preparation to hand units over to beneficiaries.

Diyar Al-Saad occupies 133,000 square meters and includes educational, health, commercial and recreational services sites, in addition to parks.

Infrastructure for water, electricity, telecommunications, sewage and rain drainage has been completed.

Diyar Al-Saad is one of 16 projects providing a total of 30,000 housing units in Riyadh at prices ranging from SR250,000 ($66,639) to SR750,000.
