According to some reports, the uplift in Chinese guests, which numbered more than 35,000 in January, followed a remarkable 2017 when Chinese guest numbers rose 61% across the year to a total of 374,000 making it Abu Dhabi’s largest international source market followed by India, United Kingdom, Philippines, USA and Egypt.

 

The numbers swelled by facilitating Chinese tourists’ travel and comfort such as the easing of visa restrictions, now granting visas on arrival in the UAE and expanding portfolio of attractions across the emirate, including Louvre Abu Dhabi and the recently opened Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi theme park which will boost tourism and position the emirate as a competitive tourist destination.
