Replies on delayed projects ‘fail to satisfy Nazaha’

The National Anti-Corruption Commission, Nazaha, is not satisfied with the explanations and reasons provided by some ministries for delayed projects, sources in the know of things have said.

Some of the ministries concerned failed to even conduct investigations into the lapses leading to the slow pace of important projects that are estimated to be in millions of riyals, the sources were quoted by local media as saying on Saturday.
The explanations were submitted to Nazaha President Khalid Al-Mheisin and included justifications for the delays without holding people or bodies responsible for the same, the sources said.

Nazaha has revealed that five projects for school complexes, worth SR63.9 million, in Madinah are among those delayed. The delivery of these projects is two to five years overdue and the achievement rate varies between 48 and 80 percent.
The paving of streets at Bani Maan and Al-Bataliya in Al-Ahsa, at an estimated cost of SR4 million, has also been delayed with an achievement rate of 56 percent, it added.
