Over 23 employers set to showcase job opportunities at ADU’s career fair

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) students and graduates are set to meet with prospective employers, discover potential internships and explore part-time and full-time employment opportunities with leading local and multinational companies during the targeted career fair taking place tomorrow.

 

The career fair, which is organized by the ADU Employability and Alumni Relations Department, focuses on showcasing opportunities tailored for ADU students and Alumni from the colleges of Business Administration, Arts and Sciences and Law and Engineering.  The event, which is one of many career development events organized by ADU, is the first annual targeted career fair that will serve as a platform specifically for students and graduates from the above mentioned majors, to learn more about participating companies whilst also networking with key players in various sectors to glean professional and practical advice about entering the workforce.

 

Abu Dhabi University accommodates approximately 7,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students and over 15,000 alumnifrom both campuses of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, majoring in four programs across different colleges: Business Administration, Arts and Sciences, Law and Engineering. A large number of students and alumni are expected to attend the Fair, along with over 23 participating employers. 

 

Prof. Waqar Ahmad Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University commented “This year’s career fair will contribute to reinforcing Emiratization efforts and opening new horizons for ADU’s qualified national graduates of all majors as well as other students and alumni.”

 

“The upcoming career fair will definitely increase the number of employment opportunities for ADU students and graduates whilst also tapping into their leadership, effective communication and critical thinking skills. It will facilitate direct contact between all 23 participating employers and students, whereby employers will be able to match-make students based on their potential with available vacancies within their firms” Prof. Waqar added. 

 

Kellye Blackburn, ADU Senior Manager Employability and Alumni Relations, commented, “The targeted career fair at ADU sheds light on the university’s endeavors to support our students and alumni secure future employment. Through careful research and market studies, our faculty team places a heavy emphasis on tailoring academic programs that are well suited for the current and future job market requirements. The fair provides a unique opportunity for undergraduates and alumni to demonstrate employability skills and learn how to position themselves professionally.”

 

Companies from both private and public sector as well as multinational companies from across the UAE are expected to participate in the targeted career fair. The employers are specialized in various domains of finance, tourism and hospitality, healthcare, digital marketing, business management, law, education, facilities management and real estate, health sciences, human resources and others.

Representatives from these organizations will be available to answer all questions relating to the facilitation of applications and advising on required qualifications.
