Oman Air Praises Travel Agents At Oman Travel Agents Awards 2014

At a glittering ceremony held recently at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Muscat, Oman Air has praised the vital work of travel agents in Oman.

Chief Executive Officer Paul Gregorowitsch and Chief Operations Officer Abdulrahaman Al-Busaidy hosted the event on behalf of the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman. They were joined by the airline’s Chief Officer Sales, General Manager Worldwide Sales, Senior Manager Sales – GCC, and Country Manager – Oman. In addition, all Muscat’s, and many of Salalah’s, travel agents were represented at the ceremony.

Mr. Gregorowitsch commented:

“Travel agents in the Sultanate play a vital role in promoting both Oman Air and the Sultanate of Oman to visitors around the world. Furthermore, they offer invaluable support for Oman Air by encouraging Omani air travellers to book with their national airline.

“It is therefore a pleasure and an honour to recognize their contribution to the increasing success of our company and the nation we represent. I would like to congratulate all the worthy winners in the Oman Travel Agents Awards 2014. I would also like to thank all those travel agents who may not have won awards, but whose commitment to Oman has played a part in growing the country’s travel and tourism sector.”

Mr. Al-Busaidy added:

“The Sultanate’s travel agents and GSAs are pivotal to Oman Air’s success. Thanks to their hard work and commitment, Oman Air continues to sell more tickets, carry more passengers and welcome more people to Oman than ever before. Furthermore, they help to raise awareness of our award-winning products and services, and of our expanding network of exciting destinations.

“As Oman Air’s fleet grows, we are able to launch more routes. Since December 2014, we have unveiled services to Manila, Jakarta, Goa and Singapore, and more will follow later this year. Travel agents have been invaluable in achieving a high level of bookings to these destinations, as I am sure they will for future services when they are announced. The Oman Travel Agents Awards 2014 therefore offer a wonderful opportunity for Oman Air to both acknowledge individual contributions and thank the Omani travel trade as a whole.”

Winners from both Muscat and Salalah were recognised at the Oman Travel Agents Awards 2014. From Muscat, they included Travel City, which received the Golden Award, Bahwan Travel Agencies, who received the Silver Award, and Majan International Agencies, who received the Bronze Award.

Winning travel agents from Salalah included Bahwan Travel Agencies, who took the Golden Award, Al Manal Travel, who took the Silver Award, and International Travel & Tourism, who received the Bronze Award.
