Olympics Creativity and Giftedness Lunches its 9th Annual Program

Showcasing the unique and exceptional talents of the Olympics Creativity and Giftedness program #Doroob officially opened its Visual Arts Exhibition at Arab Mall this Saturday January 17, 2015 presenting the works of the 72 finalists in the 2014 Photography and Vlogging categories. The goal of the exhibition was to bring together the finalists and their works within a public setting shedding light on the youth creativity and their utilization of the digital technology. The exhibition was also the launch pad where the official announcement of the 9th Annual Olympics Creativity and Giftedness program was made presenting key updates on the program and means of participation.

This year witnesses further development in the Olympics Creativity and Giftedness program with concentration on youth empowerment and development in the visual arts categories: Through the Eyes of Youth (Photography) and Express (Vlogging). Students from across the Kingdom will be able to take part simply by registering uploading their work through the Olympics Creativity and Giftedness program website: www.olympicscg.com

Registration and participation in the program is easy and any student across the Kingdom studying in all school from 1st till 12th grade can take part.

“By easing the manner in which they can take part students from any location in Saudi Arabia can participate and be eligible for the program and benefit from the opportunities at hand such as the scholarship options we offer,” said Ms. Sulafa Batterjee CEO #Doroob. “Our key aim is help students achieve their full potential and open new avenues of creativity enhancement and skills empowerment allowing them to utilize 21st century skills and opportunities in a unique innovative manner allows them to be productive and resourceful in what they can offer.”

“By launching the 9th Annual Olympics Creativity and Giftedness program during our visual arts exhibition featuring the 2014 finalists we recognized the achievement of the young talents and provided the necessary platform for potential participants to see first-hand what they can achieve motivating them to bring out their creativity by expressing themselves in a language they all today master,” continued Ms. Sulafa Batterjee.

During the exhibition participants were able to meet with the OCG judges and take part in a number of program activities on hand including: photography corner, dare your mind, train your brain, lamps & arts and hand printing. The exhibition included a section titles “Be the Ambassador of Your Dreams”. With the opening witnessing key attendees from the public, media and art fields the event was widely received and is expected to attract a significant number of guests during the week. The exhibition will be open to the public with the visual art pieces on display from morning with a special supporting program taking part daily after 6pm inviting the audience on an interactive journey from within.

OCG for the past 8 years was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, which is open to students across the Kingdom to compete in for the winning titles of gold, silver and bronze medals in the following five categories: Mental Math, Memory, Fast Reading, Photography and Vlogging. Last year 20,600 students took part from across the Kingdom with the participation being narrowed down to 109 finalists who came to Jeddah to compete in the final segment of the program and win their gold, silver and bronze medals. #Doroob – The Company sponsoring OCG- has a vision to expand OCG to cover all regions of the Kingdom in coming years.

#Doroob is a non-profit company that aims to create opportunities for young creative and gifted individuals (nationals and residents) to discover, grow and guide their paths to leadership. #Doroob invests in youth throughout its programs, Olympics of Creativity and Giftedness is one of many programs sponsored by #Doroob.

Throughout the years, #Doroob partnered with significant parties in Saudi to promote its programs, it made a valuable partnership with Uturn Entertainment to open the window for all video bloggers to demonstrate their creativity and talents. The winner of Vlogging award for two years in a row was Anmar Rodainy, an enthusiast who believed in himself and managed to prove it to everyone that he has talent.

Because #Doroob invests in winners in OCG, it decided to send Anmar on a scholarship to New York Film Academy to study Film Making which includes directing, cinematography and other cinema related sciences to pursue his bachelor degree in a major he loves.

Through OCG, #Doroob opens the door for other “Anmars” to participate and show what their passion in Photography and Vlogging will yield in this year’s contests. The door is wide open! And #Doroob will surely invest in its winners, it’s an opportunity that no passionate would miss.
