: Isuzu Motors International Operations Thailand Co, LTD. organized a discovery trip for a number of media and press reporters specialized in automotive industry in the Middle East to the Kingdom of Thailand the home land of D-Max & mu-X. Main highlighted activities of the trip were Thailand Motor Show, adventure at ISUZU 4x4 lands and visiting the Isuzu factory that works in accordance with the latest modern technologies and the sophisticated manufacturing process of Isuzu new “D-Max” in the presence of Isuzu factory engineers and officials where they eloquently illustrated all assemble process and modern technologies introduced in the assembly line. 

In Thailand, the center of 1-Ton pickup truck and the biggest market of ISUZU, D-Max has achieved a sales of around 150,000 units last  year.Not only in Thailand, the vehicle also been accepted in many markets around the world due to its high capacity. It can be used for businesses for its strong performance and great capabilities or as a family car for its latest safety systems, strong cabin structure from high tensile steel, and a luxurious, comfortable and sporty design. From Thailand, D-Max is exported to more than 100 countries to every continent around the world, including big markets like UK, Australia, Middle East and etc.

During the trip, we had the chance to meet Mr. Piyapong Tannaphai, Assistant General Manager of Isuzu Motors International Operations Thailand Co, LTD. and having him commenting on this marvelous experience: “First of all we welcome you to Thailand, and would like to thank you and all your media colleagues from Middle East for this field visit which will give us an additional window to introduce our products features to Middle Eastern clients. Meantime, through you would like to deliver a thanks and gratitude message to our customers in Middle East region.

 

And to take the trip to its next level of excitement, we had the chance to visit Isuzu 4x4 land located in Pathum Thani Province considered as one of the best test-drive tracks where we tried the amazing D-Max 4WD model. We went through 7 different test-drive stations, each station has its own difficulty, indeed, the challenge was increasing from one station to another. However, out of the 7 stations, the station called High Hill which is a slop standing with around 40° vertical slant was one of the toughest, at this station D-Max evince its torque where it climbed the slop without touching the acceleration paddle. Another interesting station was the side slop where we drove the D-Max across the slope while it was bent more than 40°which left us doubtless about D-Max stability.

Isuzu D-Max 2019 is now available in Arab Gulf states and Jordan Kingdom with three different diesel engines. The 2.5L engine produces 109 and 136 horsepower respectively, and the third one is of 3.0L engine produces 163 horsepower, with each engines turbo charged. This is in addition to a new D-Max variant that is equipped with a 1.9L engine and produces 147 horsepower available in UAE, only, due to the regulation. 

The new Isuzu “D-Max” is available in 4WD and 2WD systems and fitted with fuel-economy diesel engine, where the car succeeded in driving from the West Coast of Saudi Arabia, starting from Jeddah Waterfront in the city of Jeddah to the capital Riyadh in the center of Saudi Arabia as a first stage, and continuing its journey down to the East Coast in Dammam, Results were outstanding, D-Max succeeded to run the distance of a total 1,386 km which SR30 worth of fuel only, which certainly proves its strength in fuel-economy. 

Isuzu D-Max had achieved a great success in the Middle East in recent few years for its flexibility in meeting the needs of users both in urban and rural driving environments.  This is another point valued from customers in addition to its diesel engine which strong torque and great fuel-economy compared with other type of engines.
