Malta to take part in the 3D Virtual AVIAREPS Middle East Travel Caravan

The Unique platform hosted by AVIAREPS, will allow MTA and its partners to virtually meet travel professionals and key players in the tourism industry.

In further attempts to strengthen its presence in the region, Malta Tourism Authority & Conventions Malta join a list of tourism stakeholders to take part in the 3D Virtual AVIAREPS Middle East Travel Caravan.

The 3D Caravan will launch on the 21st of October for the markets of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. Following that, another one will be held on the 24th of November 2020 for the markets of UAE, Oman, Lebanon and Jordan.

The Caravan, hosted by AVIAREPS provides a unique 3D virtual platform that allows participants such as tourism boards, hotels, DMCs and attraction representatives to host their virtual stands and meet, interact and conduct meetings with key outbound travel professionals and travel agents from the GCC and Levant countries.

Although the Caravan will be completely virtual, the platform used is realistic enough to engage and immerse all participants and create a feel of an actual exhibition.

Just like other participating tourism boards and conventions bureaux, MTA/ Conventions Malta will be operating their own booth in the virtual space, where they will showcase their promotional videos and brochures, exchange business cards with visitors, or hold meetings with different users.

Also participating in the exhibition are several of MTA’s key partners, which include hotels like Hilton Malta, The Westin Dragonara Resort, Intercontinental Malta, Holiday Inn Express, Rosselli, and Corinthia, and DMCs like Colours of Malta, My Maltese Guide, SMS Group Limited, and MP Events. All those establishments will also have booths that are accessible to registered users traversing through the virtual space.

MTA’s participation in AVIAREPS’s travel Caravan is a vital step in fulfilling Malta’s overarching goal of creating an attractive destination for travellers in the region, and it is only a small part of MTA’s efforts to create a strong value preposition for its customers.

About Malta Tourism Authority:

The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) was formally set up by the Malta Travel and Tourism Service Act (1999).  This clearly defines its role – extending it beyond that of international marketing to include a domestic, motivating, directional, co-ordinating and regulatory role. The Act strengthens the public and private partnership in tourism through greater and more direct participation by the private sector in national planning and development of the industry.

The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) has a diverse role, but one which in essence is all about creating and fostering relationships. The MTA is the tourism industry’s regulator and motivator, its business partner, the country’s brand promoter, and is here to form, maintain and manage meaningful partnerships with all tourism stakeholders. Primarily, this means attracting visitors to the Islands, but also working closely alongside the private sector partners. Importantly, the MTA is also here to help strengthen the industry’s human resources, ensure the highest standards and quality of the Islands’ tourism product, and foster relations with local and international media.
