Majors Day Organized to Guide Students Academic Specializations and Career Paths

Hundreds of Zayed University students seized the opportunity to decide their academic fields, based on the current labour market demands, during the recently held Majors Day.

Hosted across both campuses, in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Majors Day was organized by the Undergraduate Student Success and Academic Advising Office. Students learned valuable academic facts, attended specialized workshops, and advising sessions to learn more about different programs offered by the seven colleges at the University.

His Excellency Prof. Reyadh Al-Mehaideb, Vice-President of Zayed University, mentioned that Majors day enables the students to explore suitable majors to pursue a career in related fields to today’s market demands. “Our career services representatives and academic advisors highlight provide our students, following their intensive research, with all facts and related information to help students, select majors properly and shape their future,” he said.

 

 

Students have learned that over 1200 Active Employers in the UAE, covering both Government and private sectors, have been marked as potential work opportunities post-graduation.

 

Zayed University is in contact with 560 Government Sector entities, 529 Private Sector companies, and 123 Semi-Government establishments.

 

During Majors Day, organized every semester, students met with faculty members and advisors to clarify degree requirements and review career possibilities. Each of the seven colleges at Zayed University reached out to the students through presentations, videos, virtual reality simulators, advanced career planning systems, and much more.

 

Students were also able to sign up for college tours, academic success workshops, individual advising sessions, and other student support activities.
