LG gives Red Sea Mall visitors the opportunity to try its AI TV's in an interactive competition

LG Electronics Saudi Arabia gave consumers the opportunity to experience its Artificial Intelligence (AI) TVs with an instant chance to win prizes. In a unique interactive competition organized at Red Sea Mall (RSM) in Jeddah, LG enabled visitors to experience firsthand the benefits and technology of these televisions and to see their superiority over other brands.

The conversational voice recognition in Arabic and the dynamic adjustment technology make LG AI TVs easy to use. The conversational Arabic voice recognition feature does not exist in competitor brands.

At the RSM challenge, LG asked shoppers and visitors, of all ages, to try and creatively use the technologies of two smart televisions, one AI-supported LG and one from another brand. Joana Qandil, 6, won an LG AI TV for her outstanding ability to move smoothly from one feature to another and to talk to the remote control in simple Arabic. Participants in the challenge were impressed by the innovative technology of the LG displays and the ease of their use.

Launched this year, the LG AI TVs come with LG’s unique ThinQ AI platform that deploys a deep learning algorithm to allow a higher level of AI picture and sound quality. With the new algorithm, LG TVs analyze source content and recognize ambient conditions to deliver an optimized content.

LG Saudi Arabia President Eddie Jun commented: "We at LG always try to interact with consumers and allow them to try our products and see their unique and exclusive features and technology. As part of our efforts to meet the requirements of our customers in Saudi Arabia and enrich their entertainment and viewing experience, LG will launch AI TV's supporting standard Arabic, in addition to the Saudi and GCC dialects, in June. The company will also equip its televisions with the Egyptian Arabic dialect later this year. On top of Arabic Natural Language Processing, the 2019 TVs also support embedded NLP for English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian."

The conversational voice recognition feature, which now comes in Arabic, makes it easier than ever to source answers, simply by speaking into the remote control without additional hardware requirements. By understanding context, the TVs allow for more complex requests, meaning users won’t have to make a series of repetitive commands to get the desired results. NLP helps deliver intelligent voice-activated control in Arabic across LG’s new AI-enabled TVs, which include OLED TV and Nano-Cell.
