On April 18, 2018, Riyadh celebrated the opening of the first cinema ever in Saudi Arabia at King Abdullah Financial Center, inaugurated by the Minister of Culture and Information.

At the event, Abdul Latif Jameel Company (Lexus) presented its aggressively styled, high-performance and agile handling LC500, and the All-new flagship model LS500h. 

It is fundamental for the company to take part in such an outstanding entertainment event which is considered a recognition of the kingdom's vision 2030 aiming at improving the quality of individuals’ lives throughout cultural and entertainment ventures. This surely will play a significant role economically, in addition to creating more job opportunities in the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture and Information announced the first cinema operating license to the Development and Investment Entertainment Company, enabling AMC Cinemas to open and operate in Saudi Arabia. This is expected to reach 100 movie theaters in Kingdom; leading a big growth in the cinema sector to nearly 1 billion dollars over the next few years. The kingdom, with a population of over 32 million, mostly youths under the age of 30, is the region's largest market for movie theaters.

The opening ceremony at King Abdullah Financial Center was dedicated to the premier of the highly anticipated film, Marvel studios’ “Black Panther”, in which the Lexus LC500 is featured in its role in helping the Black Panther defeat a legendary villain. The LC’s aggressive styling, high performance and agile handling are a perfect fit for the Black Panther’s quick, cat-like reflexes and superhuman feats.

The “Black Panther” is directed by Ryan Coogler, and starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o, the film follows T’Challa, who, after the events of Marvel Studios’ “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King.

Lexus also announced how pleased they have been with the amount of success that the movie achieved so far, as the movie is expected to be one of the most successful movies of the year.

The movie's official premiere began on February 16th, 2018, in American movie theaters. Experts foresee that the movie will make up to 2 billion dollars in the box-office. From the very beginning, Lexus has planned to collaborate and chip in the production of this huge movie to feature it’s new and anticipated models, LC and LS 2018.
