Lead the way with Cambridge English

A forum organised by Cambridge English Language Assessment and Cambridge University Press brought together school owners, school principals, heads of English Language department and education professionals in the United Arab Emirates to discuss the importance of setting and achieving English language standards.

The event focussed on sharing best practices from the United Arab Emirates and beyond highlighting ways in which schools can effectively use Cambridge English qualifications to prepare students for Cambridge English qualifications and other high stakes tests such as Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE). Local and international case studies were presented at the event that focussed on how management in the school can support both students and teachers in primary and secondary schools.

According to Ramiz Haddadin, Regional Director, MENAT for Cambridge English Language Assessment, “Schools across the UAE are playing a huge role in helping to raise the standard of English and preparing students to excel at university by using external measures of assessment. A number of schools use Cambridge English qualifications to give students real life English skills as well as preparing them for formal high stakes tests such as Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE). The enthusiasm for learning English and the quality of teaching has helped make this a success.”

“Teachers are looking for materials that will help their learners achieve success when taking Cambridge English Exams, said Julian Eynon, Head of Sales for Cambridge University Press, ELT. He further added, “When designing Cambridge English Exams preparation materials, we look carefully at the actual answers given by thousands of exams candidates in many different countries around the world and we incorporate these findings into the design of our materials to help learners avoid common mistakes and become more proficient in even the most challenging areas of the language.”
